We are proud members or affiliates of the following organizations:
Wild Seed Project
The Maine-based Wild Seed Project is one of our favorite local non-profits to support! We love attending their workshops, shopping their native plant sale, and volunteering when we can. If you want to grow your own native plants, check out their online resources.
Wild Ones
Wild Ones provides free and affordable webinars on a broad range of topics. One of our favorites to highlight is the Certified Native Habitat Program, which allows you to certify your landscape if you have 75% native species or are actively working toward that goal. Maine has two chapters, the Midcoast Maine Chapter and the Mount Washington Valley (Seedling) Chapter.
Native Plant Trust
The Native Plant Trust is the nation’s first plant conservation organization and the only one solely focused on New England’s native plants. If you’re looking for native plants in action, they operate a native plant nursery at Nasami Farm in western Massachusetts and own three rare plant sanctuaries in Maine that are open to the public year-round.
Homegrown National Park
Homegrown National Park calls on homeowners to shift their conventional residential landscapes, primarily designed for humans alone, to ecological landscapes that support biodiversity. They provide a clear path to starting a new habitat at home, and have an interactive Biodiversity Map, which tracks gardens across the United States.
Ecological Landscape Alliance
The Ecological Landscape Alliance has been a national and international leader in promoting sustainable approaches to landscape design, construction, and management since the early 90’s. Members include arborists, ecologists, educators, engineers, landscape contractors, landscape designers, garden enthusiasts, and more.
