“We hired Larkspur Design to help us solve some design problems with our property and to convert our large yard, which was mainly lawn, into a habitat for pollinators, birds and small animals. It has been a layered project, including plantings of over 30 native trees and hundreds of shrubs, grasses and perennials. With Larkspur’s guidance, the change in our property has been dramatic and wonderful! We now have constantly changing waves of blossoming perennials and grasses that add seasonal interest. The trees and shrubs host beneficial insects, as well as adding shade and structure to our once barren yard. We could not be happier with evolution of our property, and look forward to a continuing relationship with Seana and the crew at Larkspur.”

“We had the absolute pleasure of working with Larkspur Design to create a sensory garden for our disabled child and family, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the very beginning, their team showed deep empathy and a genuine desire to understand our family’s unique needs. They took the time to listen, plan thoughtfully, and revise designs iteratively until everything felt just right.

Their attention to detail was remarkable—they even tracked sun hours to ensure every plant was placed in the optimal spot. The garden now includes a beautiful mix of textures, scents, sounds, and medicinal plants that support both mental and physical health. It’s become a cherished outdoor living space that our whole family enjoys regularly.

The transformation has been life-changing. What was once an underused area is now a vibrant, healing sanctuary. We can’t thank the team enough for their expertise, kindness, and dedication. Highly recommend Larkspur Design to anyone looking to create a meaningful and inclusive garden space.”

"We couldn’t be happier working with Larkspur Design! Recommended by a neighbor, they helped us completely reimagine our front and back yards. The design process was a joy—professional, responsive, and collaborative from start to finish. One of our main goals was to plant native species, and the transformation of our front yard has been incredible. What was once a tired, lifeless garden is now bursting with flowers, buzzing with bees, and drawing compliments from neighbors every time we water. It has exceeded all expectations, and we can’t wait to tackle the backyard next year!"

"Larkspur Design, with an initial consultation with First Light Habitat, helped breathe new life into the landscape of a pocket park in our community 5 years ago. Delayed for a year because of Covid, it was well worth the wait. Larkspur’s expertise in soils, conditions of the area and the request for low maintenance led to a beautiful design with a comprehensive native plant selection that withstands drought, occasional flooding from the salt marsh, and brings beautiful blossoms, peaceful contemplation as well as local pollinators to the park. Butterflies, bees, birds flit and buzz about. It is magical!

And as hoped for, sustainable and withstood the flooding from the major storms of Jan 2024 unscathed. The park also provides a valuable and visual resource about native plants for specific areas in our community. Seana and the Larkspur team are upbeat, knowledgeable, and a delight to work with. They are also happy to help with follow-up questions if they arise, which is greatly appreciated. We all learned far more than expected."

"We have lived in our field-meets-forest setting for twenty years and have extensive foundation gardens and perimeter plantings. For years we have taken care of it ourselves but our daughter was getting married in our yard and we needed help sprucing up the gardens for the wedding! Seana and her crew breathed new life into the gardens without making them look new. They rearranged, added and removed plants, cleaned up overgrown bushes, and artfully added new front garden bushes and annuals throughout. The plant selections completely fit our goal of a mature, native Maine feel. The color, placement and structure of plant material is pleasing from any window of my home in any season.

I love the movement of grasses, the addition of a sweet little tree and the variety of textures through the seasons. Larkspur also solved a wet spot problem by designing and installing a natural stone walkway that gives quiet presence to what was previously a utility looking space. This past summer my garden was healthier than it has been in years and full of bees!

Seana and her crew are knowledgeable, professional and creative. We are so happy to have found these Garden Elves and highly recommend Larkspur!"

“We are committed to native plantings and sustainable landscapes. Seana obviously has the credentials and experience to provide both. She is personable, courteous, and anxious to design a landscape upon which she and her clients can collaborate and agree. Simply put, she is very easy to work with throughout both the design and installation phases. She has an artist’s eye for color and textures. She and her team have a strong work ethic. We are pleased to recommend Larkspur to create and/or improve your landscape.”

“Seana worked with us to create a comprehensive landscaping plan for our property (an old farmhouse with very little landscaping). She listened carefully to our preferences, and her final plan was outstanding, taking our suggestions into account and giving us so many wonderful ideas for companion plantings, perennial ornamentals and vegetables, and fruit and ornamental trees. We’ve been very impressed with her work, and will be continuing to work with her as we begin to implement her fantastic design.”
